Benefits of membership

Phi Kappa Phi members enjoy many benefits, including the respect of family, peers and employers. Membership is a stamp of excellence that is recognized by graduate and professional school admissions committees and employers.

Why should you join Phi Kappa Phi?

There are several reasons to join. None, though, is more important than this: membership recognizes and rewards academic success. At initiation, members receive gold keys and certificates of membership. But Phi Kappa Phi is considerably more than a gold key and an impressive addition to a résumé. Standards for election are extremely high. Membership is by invitation only to the top 7.5 percent of second-semester juniors and the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students.

Members may participate in leadership positions at the chapter, regional and national levels, while conferences and conventions provide opportunities to meet other members of the organization. Additionally, the society offers print and web publications to its members, while the national website offers a letters of recommendation section and seminars addressing educational and career-based topics.

Additional benefits

In addition to academic recognition, Phi Kappa Phi members enjoy additional benefits with membership, including:

  • Career resources
  • Awards
  • Internship opportunities
  • Networking
  • Generous partner discounts
  • Society services
  • Society publications
  • Résumé graphics and searchable database
  • Merchandise and graduation regalia

A full list of benefits is available on the national Phi Kappa Phi website.
